Decorative Indoor Planters

For our wedding, we made all the centerpieces. By we, I mean my wife and some family members. As memory serves, I was playing golf at the time. We had painted the planters gold and copper for the big day and mixed them in with a number of other items to create a rustic centerpiece. After the wedding, we had some of these painted cans still sitting around. Most of them had been taken by guests which we fully encouraged, but of the remaining stock, I decided to create some new planters for our loft in Brooklyn.

The detailed pattern on these decorative planters was my first crack at this tedious style of design and repetitive patterns. Little did I know what a slippery slope it would become and the influence it would have on the next few years of artwork and design. It’s great to have a few pieces of artwork that can be altered whenever a plant outgrows the pot (or we forget to water them).

Our plant collection has since grown, we traded the loft in Brooklyn for a mid-century modern house in the country, and, these planters continue to fit our style and decorate our home.
