Galaxy Motorcylce Tank

Sometimes Alternate surfaces make the best canvas. A friend of mine happens to have a great collection of motorcycles. With any collection, there tends to be extra parts lying around. This is the second tank he provided me to paint as artwork. The simplistic design of the black background vs. the bright line work allows the pattern to leap off the surface.

The inspiration for the design comes from the offset gas cap. I looked for a concept that would radiate out from an off-center point. In my mind, the astrological signs and star patterns on a spherical grid was the perfect solution. What could be more off-center these days than our entire solar system?
